Xbox Design Lab is back: still with these limits?

Xbox Design Lab is back: still with these limits?

I have designed a custom Xbox controller before returning when it first launched the program in nature. Now, things are a bit better, but still not so wild and crazy, since I would like them to be. For Microsoft’s credit, you will not go complete “MySpace Design No-Limits” with official color options, but nor are users restricting users from prefabricated color combinations.

The options were less when I used Xbox Design Lab again when it was made available to the public. A controller I designed was almost monotonous. The only Bummer was that he could go almost all the distance, but Microsoft stopped at less than complete options in all elements. The ABXY and Vista, menu and sharing buttons remain slightly more limited in the scope than the rest of the controller.

Back to Launch in 2016, Xbox Design Lab had 15 color options for the main body of the controller. Here, in 2021, for the Xbox One X controller, Xbox Design Lab has 18 color options. It would seem here, more than the original, there is an option all over, as we wanted first. Not all inclusive yet, but close.

With the original release, we had 15 colors for the front, back, the dilling pad, and the superior trigger / button. The joysticks obtained only 7 color options: blue midnight, abyss black, red oxide, purple regal, military green, blue photon, gray storm and dark pink. Because the intense pink color was the most attractive color to be available for most elements, I chose intense pink.

Added to the ABXY options mix is a new “black in colors” option, something like what we returned in the old school controllers of previous generations. It is also added: a new “black blank” option to see, menu, share buttons. Before the other four options, gray on white was the only white option before now.

We are still holding the hope that Microsoft will go to your senses and deliver the full spectrum on the still limited buttons. That, or get particularly rare with him and allows such buttons to be completely transparent. You can imagine?

You can get an Xbox Design Lab driver from Microsoft now for around $ 70 USD. Unless you want an engraving in that controller, at that time, it will cost closer about $ 80 USD.

Also note: If you look back to a buyer guide that I wrote in October 2016, the “best” alignment of the controller is still greatly it. Keep the PDP alignment, which I am not completely secure of the quality of here in 2021, the rest of the suggestions now have newer versions performed by Microsoft and Razer who are at least as good, if not much better, than their predecessors. Take a look at this top 4 better review of Xbox ONE drivers to see why the elite driver is still likely your best option if you only want black or white.
