Google Maps and your business: Time to check it, now, today

It’s time to peek at how you and your business appear on Google Maps – and the whole internet. It’s not just about having your own web page, and this isn’t about updating the Facebook group “which is being built” you. It’s about looking at your business through the eyes of potential customers everyday – and see how messy the internet is here in 2021.

Google Maps.

You don’t need to pay money to have accurate info about your business listed on Google Maps. There is a verification of your business on the Google page that makes everything very simple. After you go through a very simple verification process that you are who you say you are, you can create an accurate list of recent information, the latest from Google about your business.

If you don’t do this, there is a possibility that Google Maps still has accurate info about your business. That is possible, but not guaranteed. Especially considering big changes, many businesses have made over the past few years, Google Maps (and similar services) today have great potential for inaccuracies when it comes to the list of information about businesses in your city.

How to check your info

You might want to start by searching for your business address on Google Maps and see if it includes your building and the most accurate and latest information about your business on the map. Find your business name on Google Maps and see if Google provides accurate information.

If whatever you registered is wrong, Google is not necessarily with an obligation to provide accurate information. It may be unfair or true, but maybe in your best interest to ensure the information you have registered for the public right and correct.

Consideration

As a business owner, you should consider things like: “Do I want people to avoid my business because Google Maps put the location pin on the wrong side of the block?” You might also consider: “Do people give a poor ranking of my business because Google Maps has our time registered incorrectly?”

These problems appear more often than you possibly would if you feel comfortable – it’s messy there. And it’s not just Google Maps – even though it’s probably the first place you have to start looking at the curation. From now on – it will be worth it when you!
