Porsche launched a PCM 6.0 infotainment system with enhanced voice commands and Android Auto

German car maker Porsche recently launched the next Porsche Gen Management Infotainment (PCM 6.0) system. The biggest news is the insertion of automatic Android Wired besides the connectivity of Apple Wireless Carplay.

Porsche claims the latest 6.0 PCM infotainment faster and supports over-the-water updates for software and performance improvement. This is the first time for PCM to have an Android automatic connectivity, but the car maker does offer a PCM plus upgrade to all 996 Porsche 911 1990s, and which comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Apple Music and Apple Podcast Integration

Google Android users have many things that will be happy at PCM 6.0, Porsche, but Apple users have more features in the store. For example, the Porsche driver with an existing Apple Music subscription will have unlimited access to songs and ad-free broadcasts from Apple Music, Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, and Apple Music Country through Support

Apple Wireless Carplay.

Plus, Porsche offers internet connection in three-year free cars to meet your smartest lifestyle online. “We have succeeded in combining classic radio experience with modern streaming experience,” added Martin Bayer, navigation manager and infotainment in

Porsche AG.

The latest PCM 6.0 also includes access to millions of free events from Apple podcasts. The system requires you to link your Apple ID using the Porsche Connect application or online in my Porsche to get a crack.

PCM 6.0 voice pilot

Also new to PCM 6.0 is a refined sound pilot feature that allows you to control the system using voice commands. For example, say “Hey Porsche” will wake the system to bring your order, and everything happens without releasing your wheel or eye from the road.

Recognized, voice commands are not new features in premium cars, but are happy to know that PCM 6.0 allows you to do it. Sound pilots “permanently online,” said Porsche, and the system will learn and continue to increase from time to time what sophisticated A.I. should be done. So, for example, if you say, “I need a gas,” the system will find a route to the nearest gas station in the navigation system.

Faster navigation and digital calendar

Infotainment PCM 6.0 Next Porsche displays hardware architecture and new software to operate at a fast-fast speed. The standard navigation system has gotten many benefits from this upgrade and now feeds real-time traffic information. It also has a new map display that shows traffic information for individual lines, traffic congestion, and direction points along the way.

Also new is a digital calendar feature that displays your smartphone calendar entry on a touch screen PCM 6.0 screen. And if you have an active Bluetooth connection between PCM 6.0 and your smartphone, you can make calls using calendar services.

PCM 6.0: Soundtrack My Life

Even though it is still in the beta testing phase, PCM 6.0 will also come up with the My Life Soundtrack application from Porsche Digital. Porsche claims my life soundtrack is the first “adaptive sound function” in the world. This system creates a private soundtrack in real-time while driving and adjusts music based on your driving style.

If it sounds cool, check this: the soundtrack can be played on your smartphone even when you get out of the car. The latest Porsche PCM 6.0 infotainment system will find roads in Cayenne, Panamera, and 911 sports cars this summer.
