HP Elite Folio Review: An expensive hododdge of mobile-centered features

HP managed to make a name for creating attractive and unique laptops. His spectral notebooks are some of the most beautiful computers around, while the Folio origin spectrum was a swirling mixture of leather and metal. The company continues to hunt superlatives like “the thinnest” or “the lightest” with its series of elite dragonflies, but it also brings catchy features on its portfolio. The HP Elite Folio is a real Hodgepodge of these ideas – it has a leather construction, a touch screen touch screen, Snapdragon 8CX Power, LTE connectivity and a stylus with Wacom technology. On paper, it is a convincing mix of features. But at $ 1,889 of $ 1,889, the Folio elite is horrible for a Windows arm machine on arm.

One of HP’s greatest strengths is its unique and attractive designs. In a sea of rounded metal rectangles, the Folio elite is certainly distinguished. Its outside covered with vegan leather is tasteful and soft to the touch. Wearing it around me almost makes me feel professional.

The opening of the Folio elite is a little delicate, however. Because it has a sweater-front screen, sometimes the panel appears on the cover when I try to open it in laptop mode. This happens about 50% of the time – I want there to be a lock to keep the screen in place when I do not want it to slide forward.

When the laptop is all set up, everything works as it should. The hinge is robust enough to keep the screen at any angle and small slot between the screen and the keyboard that houses and loads the HP active pen included HP is convenient. This little slit, by the way, is also where you will find the tray of the SIM card – it is hidden in the right end. Honestly, it’s a bit difficult to find if you do not know where to look at: I had to ask HP where my SIM card should go.

The speakers flourish the keypad and a USB-C port are located on each side of the machine, with a headphone jack on the right. Although there is no fingerprint sensor for connections, you can use facial recognition via the 720p Infrared Hybrid Webcam. I also appreciate the shutter of mechanical privacy here, although I want the Bezel Top was a little thinner.
