Nokia G20 will come to the US with a MediaTek chip

MediaTek may have surpassed Qualcomm as the largest cellular chip vendor for several quarters but its presence in the US is still relatively small. Most of the cellphones sold in the main market it runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Myriad chipset, but there are some exceptions here and there. One exception will be the Nokia G20 that will come to the US next week after traveling through Europe. However, the MediaTek processor will not be the selling point, and the buyer is likely to be more interested in the price label.

Nokia G20 is a budget-friendly middle class phone and through, so don’t expect even the most powerful dimensity of SOC 5G MediaTek. Instead, the cellphone will run from the Helio G35 company, one of the newer processors of the line was launched last year with a focus on “mainstream games.” With the OCTA-core settings all consist of Cortex-A53 Cores, however, don’t expect too much on the mobile game.

The rest of the telephone specification is not too bad because of the price label. You get 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded, for example, ending with a 1600 Ă— 720 6.5 inch screen. The design will not win any award, with returning plastic textured and a large circular lump in the middle housing four cameras.

The four cameras might impress only in their number. This includes the main 48MP sensor and a 5MP ultra-wide camera, joining a macro camera and a depth sensor, only 2MP only. There is a fingerprint sensor installed on the side and, typical of Nokia phones recently, the Google assistant button is dedicated too.

Maybe it doesn’t sound much but also doesn’t ask a lot. The Nokia G20 will go on sale in the US starting July 1 for no more than $ 199. For that price, you also get two years of the main Android update and up to three years of security updates, a little more than what the new Nord N200 5G is offered and a little more expensive.
