Peloton temporarily moved the basic running mode of the Basic Tread + behind PayWall for security reasons. However, this company forgives subscribing costs for three months while working on improvements to make new modes run available without membership.
The owner of the treadmill, which costs north of $ 4,000, can previously select the “just run” option so they can use the machine without having to pay a subscription of $ 39. Membership includes direct classes and other exercise features.
Updates recently moved the Just Run button behind the Tread Lock, which is the only customer safety feature. A number of injuries and deaths have been reported in connection with the peloton treadmill.
Peloton adds the Tapak key feature “to secure the tread + against unauthorized access.” In May, the company announced a voluntary withdrawal from the Treadmill in the US and Canada. As part of the agreement with the Safety Commission of US Consumer Products (CPSC), Peloton also said he would no longer sell tread or tread + in the US after the safety problem.
The company “works updates to step on the key that will allow us to make a tread key and only run it without a peloton membership.” It tells the CNBC it raises membership fees for everyone for several months so they can still use their tread + meanwhile.
However, some users expressed anger about the move. According to PC MAG, one suggests their tread + will be “giving paper” without subscribing, and others threaten legal action. While Peloton does the right thing by giving users a free tread + subscription, controversy shows companies can do better work to communicate with customers about this change.
